CHILDREN IN SAUNA POLICY

1. Introduction

1.1 This policy aims to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals, particularly children aged 10 to 17, using our sauna facilities.

1.2 This policy supplements our Terms and Conditions. Please refer to Clause 2 of our Terms & Conditions for guidelines regarding children's access to sauna sessions.

1.3 Kuuma reserves the right to update this policy as necessary, with users being notified of any changes.

2. Guidelines for Children's Sauna Use

2.1 Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring children follow the conditions of use as stated in Clause 3 of the Terms & Conditions.

2.2 Parents or guardians should be aware of potential risks associated with children using saunas and supervise them accordingly.

2.3 It is the responsibility of the supervising adult/s to ensure their children engage in proper sauna behaviour and safety practices.

2.4 Children need shorter sauna sessions compared to adults. We advise limiting sauna rounds to a maximum of two per session, with each round lasting approximately 3 minutes (Suggested Time). The supervising adult/s must ensure their children do not to exceed the Suggested Time for sauna use, as overexposure may lead to dehydration or other health risks.

2.5 Children are advised to use the lower bench in the sauna, as it is cooler than the upper benches.

2.6 After sauna sessions, children should briefly cool down under a cold bucket shower or in a cooler area of the sauna facility.

2.7 Extreme temperature changes during cooling must be avoided to prevent discomfort or shock. It is the responsibility of the supervising adult/s to manage the temperature transition of their children.

2.8 Parents or guardians must supervise children if they choose to use the sea for a "cold plunge," ensuring they are capable swimmers and can handle the cold temperatures and sea conditions. Supervising adult/s are required to manage the temperature transition of their children prior to the “cold plunge” in the sea.

2.9 It is advised for children not to eat 2–3 hours before visiting the sauna to avoid strain on the body. Adequate hydration is required before, during and after sauna practice.

2.10 You acknowledge and agree that Kuuma accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage arising from cold plunging or swimming, including but not limited to hypothermia, cold shock response, drowning, or injury.

3. Reservation of Rights

3.1 We reserve the right to remove individuals, including children, for any breach of these Terms, at our sole discretion.

4. Booking Responsibility & Liability Waiver

4.1 By booking a private session and bringing children onboard KUUMA, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to this Children in Sauna Policy. Failure to comply may result in the termination of access to the sauna, prioritising the safety and well-being of all individuals using our facilities.

4.2 You acknowledge and agree that Kuuma accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage arising, should the supervising adult/s not follow the above policy regarding children in their care.
